IMHO you have understood it perfectly. I believe what you stated above
is known as the Divine Command theory. It involves circular reasoning
ans special pleading, but what are a few logical fallacies among
friends, right? ;o)

What is the neurological malfunction that allows folks to believe in
this deity with the double standard?

Wish I could help you Dave, but unfortunately biochemistry is not my
area of experise. I have a theory tho': I think it's a psycho-virus
that affects the higher functions of the brain. BTW, if you ever buy a
bus and want to learn how to drive it, I'm your man. ;o)
