JEFF
All personal attacks aside, the fact is that Mr. Taylor has made an
assertion regarding 2 Sam. 6:6-7; namely, that it demonstrates that God is
not compassionate or slow to become angry (or at least that God is
unjust). In making the above assertion, he (or anyone else making this
claim) shoulders the burden of proof. Thank you.

POOBAH
The text of the passage shows why Jehovah is neither compassionate nor slow
to anger. We've given an interpretation, that meets the burden of proof;
either dispute it or show how it fails to meet that burden. Tim has
demonstrated his assertion by given you a multitude of verses that show
Jehovah's quick temper. Further, he has shown your concerns lack logical
merit, so his assertion stands uncontested. I've shown you that both by a
reading of the text and by analogy that Jehovah's anger was quick, and the
act in question could in no way be considered compassionate. So stop dodging
and start answering, or future dodges will be taken as an admission you
can't.

Further, I could state that you're the one making the claim that Jehovah is
compassionate & slow to anger, and that you are failing to meet your burden
of proof. You said you would deal with the verses, not shift burden of
proof, or were you lying about that? If you have no interest in defending
your faith, then just say so. You made the claim that questions of who was
or was not to carry the ark have some bearing on whether killing Uzzah shows
quick-temper & lack of compassion. Why don't you defend that assertion for
which you have the burden of proof? We can play this game all day long, but
it will get you nowhere. The assertion has been made, evidence given, and no
refutation offered. Game over, man.

I showed that your questions were irrelevant. Either show my response to be
inadequate or admit you can't defend your god. I'll quote you here,
"However, as you may well know, asking me a question concening my views is
not the same as defending your own." So start defending your views, you
hypocrite. Either show how my response to your question failed to answer
your question or admit that it does.

I am asserting that anyone that gets angry & murders someone for trying to
help that first person is neither slow to anger nor compassionate. The idea
that I should have to defend such an assertion shows how twisted Christian
logic gets, but let's start there. Do you dispute that claim? If so, do you
dispute that most people would view the father in my Ferrari example as
horrific, mean, and with anger control problems? If not, why?

Finally then, show me why such an analogy is invalid in the ark case, or
admit that Jehovah is a divine bastard.

And I'll say it again, Jeff, you really are a piece of work. You may think
you are being cute, but all's you are showing is that you are smart enough
not to try to defend your position. The sad thing is that you evidently
believe it anyway.
