And just how does this differ from your BELIEF in a theistic form of
objective morality? Can you rationally DEFEND it without falling back on
unsubstantiated assertions that objective morality must inevitably emanate
from a Deity? Your argument embodies the unspoken but assumed enthymeme
that morality CANNOT EXIST without a LAWGIVER, but you consistently fail to
provide any evidence or argumentation that this is indeed the case. And
more importantly, if God is presumed to be the ultimate source of
morals/ethics, then it is impossible to apply such standards to God since it
merely results in a tautology and to say that "God is
Good/Moral/Ethical/whatever" becomes just a meaningless noise.
Carter
The assertion that objective morality is real follows from my basic belief
in God; if God exists, objective morality exists. Your lack of belief in an
objective morality lies in your basic belief in naturalism - if God does not
exist, objective morality does not exist.

You may "know", (even though imperfectly), through knowledge of the
characteristics of God, scriptural statements concerning morality, and
natural knowledge (life is precious, love is a virtue, etc.). You would have
to accept the presupposition of God's existence to know more completely, but
I have a good idea you're naturally aware of the moral correctness or
incorrectness of some actions (like raping babies for instance).

POOBAH
Well, Joe, looks like you're right. Carter can't rationally defend his
position without falling back on unsubstantiated assertions.

God should have hired you as a prophet.
