Eugene, yes, I was being a bit sarcastic. I don't believe God
slaughtered the children in question, or anyone for that matter. I
don't believe God exists.
However, the bible (especially the OT), present the reader with a God,
who
based on what the author of the book(s) in question tells the reader,
believed
or wished to express to be, the actual events attributed to the God
Yahweh.
Based on the understanding of God and his actions, presented to the
reader
by the author of the book in question, we are presented with a sadistic
and evil
God.
Your qualm would be with the author of the book(s) and why he believed
he/she
understood correctly the actions/wishes of the God Yahweh, not with me
and my comment concerning the God presented by the author(s).
Per your statement "I would agree that story describes Jews and tells us
something about them", am I to assume you are anti-semitic? I'm not
judging you if that is your belief. I just wish to clarify your
position.
