Achilles I am sorry, I posted on this too quickly, without reading what you wrote carefully enough. This actually doesn't sound like the doctrine I referred to at all. On rereading it is clear that this guy is not saying that Lord in the OT (YHVH) refers to Jesus (which was what HWA taught) but rather he is saying that Lord in the NT (Kurios) refers to Jesus - a very different argument. There are quite a few verses in the NT where this is clearly the case. The disciples often address Jesus as "Lord" (or in some translations "Master") as do sick people seeking healing and so forth. However, if this guy is claiming this is *always* the case he needs to read more carefully. Often Lord is used to refer to G-d 'the father.' In many of these cases, I can see how perhaps someone really committed to that notion could read it in where it doesn't fit. I imagine this is easier to do if you read the NWT, of course.
:)
In many cases it refers not to Jesus, nor to G-d, but to a man who is 'lord' of his servants, as in Mt 18:23-27 for example. I could go on, but I've posted too much tonight already, and 'lord' (with or without caps) occurs in 668 different verses in the NT (AV.) If you really want to search through them you can use this link: http://www.biblestudytools.net/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=Lord&srch_type=STANDARD&section=nt&version=av you will probably have to cut and past that one back together, as it is so long. oh, and be patient, it will take awhile to load 668 verses.
