I am debating a Christian right now about Isaiah 53:10.
When I showed that this persons offspring is designated by a word that
cannot mean 'spiritual' children, he distracted the discussion immediately
over to saying that the Jews, from the second century onward, refused to
acknowledge the canonicity and/or authenticity of Isaiah chapter 53. That
is, until the Dead Sea Scrolls discovery in 1947 forced them reluctantly the
other way.
Could the list help me with Rabbinic references before 1947 which prove
there's not really any conspiracy?
I have tried to tell him that I am not under obligation to "refute" this
Jewish-Denial claim of his since he didn't offer the slightest proof for it,
only asserted it, but i don't think it will help.
The Rabbis I have e-mailed have not responded yet.
