Please, Terry, stop! (1) "Not that I know of" is no complete sentence, and
no sub-clause will make it one.
(2) "there was at least once" is a grammatical abomination, and utterly
incorrect.
(3) The past tense of the verb " to counsel" is "counseled" or
"counselled."
(4) The entire paragraph above lacks in linguistic elegance. (<-- Irony
achieved through extreme understatement.)
TERRY
Who in the Hell said I was writing it for linguistic elegance? I am not
in this for "linguistic elegance." Damn linguistic elegance! This is not
an English class; this is the errancy list. I am sure you had no problem
understanding what I said. If you did, then STOP reading my post; it's
that simple. Once you do that, you will no longer be disturbed by my lack
of linguistic elegance. At least I know how to spell my own name.
