MCGILL
This may be somewhat off topic, but I was reading a book that said this about
the Essenes:

"According to the Talmud (Sanhedrin, 107b; Sota, 47a) the founder of the order
was Jesus ben Pandira, who was stoned to death in Jerusalem for preaching
blasphemy and heresy, and whose body was hanged upon a tree, about one hundred
years B.C. Let us bear this last item carefully in mind during the course of
the next chapter."

The next chapter is titled Origins Of Christianity. Any comments on this would
be appreciated.
