Santa Claus is eagerly anticipated by young children in may parts of the
world. Numerous authors who have never met or corresponded with one
another have given remarkably harmonious accounts of the life and ways of
Santa Claus. Santa is memorialized in the front yards of homes every
year with lights and figures depicting Santa and his reindeer. Movies
and TV shows have been produced about Santa, and children and adults come
to shopping malls in hordes just to meet with him. And who says reindeer
can't fly and fat men can't levitate up a chimney? To a mere human these
may seem impossible, but with Santa, all things are possible, because
Santa is Santa.
I never did wake up when my mom supposedly replaced my outmoded little
incisor under the pillow with a nice, shiny quarter, so I cannot prove
that it really was not the Tooth Fairy that did it. Other children may
have caught their parents in the act, but the Tooth Fairy didn't visit
these children because their parents didn't have faith in her. So, prove
to me that the Tooth Fairy isn't real.
I take it you haven't been on this list very long, DDD. Logical flaws in
Jesus' (reported) speeches are regular fare here. I can think of one
offhand; if someone struck me, I wouldn't turn my other cheek, but I
would instead uncork a good left cross.
