Yes, Christians do seek out those who are miserable or in unfortunate
circumstances, because they are the people who need love the most.
Achilles
And just so we get this straight, it's ok for Christians to concentrate on
those folks, but when an Atheist talks to the same person for the same
reason
it's immoral?
EDWARDS
<engage sarcasm mode> Ah, but you see, Achilles, there's an important
difference: Christians are purveyors of truth, meaningfulness, morality and
even salvation. The Atheists, on the other hand, seek only to infect people
with their meaningless, amoral worldview and to drag them into the vacuum of
outer darkness. It is thus axiomatic that Christians have the moral high
ground in this situation. <sarcasm mode disengaged>

This has been a truly enlightening exchange. That anyone with more than a
passing knowledge of logic would have the effrontery to pass judgement on
the quality of people's private (as opposed to public display) lives and to
characterize their belief system as one that is negative, untrue and/or
degrades life is nothing short of remarkable. When Mr. Carter arrived on
this list, made his first postings, and announced his achievements, I
thought we might be in for some interesting times. On further reflection
and after reading question-begging, trite screed such as this, I must say
that he demonstrates a noteworthy tendency toward the sophomoric.
