CREA Even if the "cursed lineage" argument is scotched, which isn't likely, there still remains that fact that according to the Messianic prophecy in Jeremiah 30:21-22, the promised deliverer/ruler, besides being a descendent of David, is to come from "...of themselves, and ... shall proceed from the midst of them". It's already been shown that ANY descendent of DAVID, by OT laws handed down by ole YHWH himself, cannot be considered to be an Israelite, thus this prophecy comes into the world stillborn (so to speak) since it requires the accomplishment of two mutually contradictory conditions. ;-) As for me, I'd be just as happy to learn from Matt where Josiah, King of Judah actually died.
