Though I have not done any research at all on the subject, is it not
possible that the Semetic author was only using hyperbole to emphasize the
disaster?

POOBAH
So perhaps the authors of the Gospels were using "dramatic license" when
they said that Jesus got up after three days? Perhaps they were using
hyperbole when they said "ALL have sinned"? Perhaps they were using
hyperbole when they put the words into Jesus mouth that he was the ONLY way
to God?

How do you determine what is hyperbole, what is fact, and what is intended
literally other than when you are backed into a logical & scientific corner?
