Heck, why not get back to the rich man now? So I'll just untuck my tail and
start the thread again with some questions for Carter. When he answers
them, I will then post an argument to show that what Jesus said to the rich
man in Luke 18:22 is as binding on Christians as other things that Jesus
spoke, which Carter would undoubtedly consider binding.

1. Should Christians beware of false prophets?

2. Should Christians not resist him who is evil but turn the other cheek
when struck?

3. Should Christians love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them?

4. Should Christians not commit adultery?

5. Should Christians not do their righteousness before men in order to be
seen of them?

6. Should Christians let their lights shine before men so that their good
works will be seen to the glory of God?

7. Should Christians kill?

8. Should Christians try to live in a way that will take them to heaven?

9. Does a Christian commit adultery in his heart if he looks upon a woman
lustfully?

10. Should Christians steal?

11. Should Christians honor their parents?

12. Will God forgive Christians their trespasses if they don't forgive
others their trespasses?

13. Do Christians have a responsibility to do missionary work?

14. Should a Christian bear false witness?

Your answers will help me gauge the depth of your belief that what Jesus
spoke was applicable only to the person(s) he spoke to. When I receive
them, we can then continue this discussion.
