ELF Well then how about the Egyptian plagues? The history of Egypt is
extremely well documented, and any nearby University should have at least one if
not several people knowledgeable on the subject. If its a state supported
University there's even a mandate that the University do a little community
support type activity -- which includes answering occasional questions from the
general public on subjects which the University has some faculty expertise in the
area.
Really Jason, I think the problem isn't one of resources, but rather one of
cognitive dissonance. Somewhere back in your brain you know durn well neither
the flood nor the plagues ever happened, that the purported purpose of the dog
and pony show for Adam makes no sense once you stop and thing about genetics for
but a moment, and the story with Balaam is absurd --- and you're seeking excuses
to avoid confronting the facts head on where you'd be forced to consciously deal
with them.
If not, then just do it. It took me all of 60 seconds to find Santorini on
line and date it, and both the flood and the plagues would have dwarfed the
volcano hands down.
If either happened it wouldn't TAKE "time to research all the
archeological/textual
evidence", it'd be a piece of cake because the dates would be prominent in any
text on ancient history.
But suit yourself.
¡Salud!
