Achilles Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't. I can't think of anyone that would fit that description. Did you have anyone in particular in mind? <carter>
> You and I seem to be the only ones who dare disagree with his arrogance.
Achilles Arrogance is your word, I don't think I've ever called Till that. The closest I would want to claim would be "hard-headed." And that's not necessarily a bad thing to be, on the balance. I am not the only one (not counting inerrantists) to disagree with him while I have been here. In fact I seem to remember quite a row going on just before you signed up. You know I am not shy to disagree with him when I think he is wrong. It's not often he is though - he's a pretty straight shooter, and he's probably been studying these issues as long as you and I have been alive - combined. I have learned to be very careful when I think he is wrong, to double check before I post, because more often than not it is I that am mistaken. He brought a lot of adversity on himself, that he could easily have avoided, simply because he is honest. When he quit his job as a missionary - well, a lot of men in the same spot might have just kept their mouth shut and kept making the right noises, and if he had been like that his life would have been a lot easier. He might even be one of these millionaire television evangelists by now, but at the very least he would certainly have had a lot less adversity to deal with. He could run a web site like Turkel does, with no dissent, but he doesn't. He could easily kick me off the list so he wouldn't have to put up with me anymore, but he doesn't. For all that, I think the man deserves a little respect.

Achilles I haven't finished the article yet, I probably won't, since I am getting sleepy. I will comment on it when I finish it. /Achilles achillesz@usa.net All rights reserved.
