CARTER
I've already stated my position on this in the "Shaking Matt Bell's Faith"
post.
POOBAH
No you didn't; you stated you didn't want to deal with the flood, you
haven't answered the question of how a text with errors can be inerrant, a
statement you made a couple of weeks back.
>BRIAN
>Dates for the plague would be another good one
CARTER
This would involve me in a very long and lengthly topic that we would get
nowhere on, and I do not have the time or the resources to debate this one.
POOBAH
A date is all "Elf" asked for. Surely you should be able to look that up
quickly, if that information isn't readily available, can you please explain
why?
>BRIAN
>a rational harmonization of

CARTER
This sounds interesting, I probably have lost the original post however.
Cite the verses and I'll get on it.
POOBAH
I privately forwarded you the message from earlier this week.
>BRIAN
>the a priori criteria you

CARTER
The witness of the Holy Spirit would be one, but unbelievers usually have a
hard time with that. However, the main criteria would be simple CONTEXT and
COMMON SENSE. You'll notice that Till has totally tucked his tail and ran
from my challenge to prove the universal application of Christ's command to
the rich man. So until someone can rationally demonstrate where I am wrong
in my exegesis, I will not address this topic.
POOBAH
Forgive me for being stupid, but define CONTEXT & COMMON SENSE. Please also
explain to me how different groups of Christians then look at the same
CONTEXT with presumably the same COMMON SENSE and come up with a different
list of which commands are important and which are not (women clergy, closed
communion, infant baptism, etc.).
For example, explain to me why the "great commission" which is directed
specifically at the disciples is meant as a command for all Christians, yet
commands like "it is easier for a camel to thread the eye of a needle than
for a (not this) rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven" is directed
specifically at an individual.
