Tim
I received the following private e-mail from our friend ADJOCK, which
I respond to below. I know ADJOCK is too brave to have sent it to
me privately on purpose, so I've done him the favor of posting it to
the list.

I hope Captain (BEAU) notices what happens when a Christian can't argue the
Bible. They get rather nasty when you point out false prophecies.

>ADJOCK
> Oh really, I pity you Taylor.
Tim Not as much as I pity someone who can't see a false prophecy.
>ADJOC
>I don't quite know why but I do. You must
> really be one dumb ass individual.
Tim I'll tell you why. It's called projection. You're frustrated that you can't use logic to show my why I'm wrong, so you call me a "dumb-ass". Why don't you show me how dumb I am by finding an entry in "God's dictionary" where "soon" means 2000 years. Can't? Didn't think so.
>ADJOCK
> You are not a Christian and apparently
> you never have been,
Tim I was a Christian for 20 years. As a child, I had to sit and listen to repeated sermons about the Seventh-Day Adventist version of Revelation. This wonderful story included depictions of how Sunday-worshippers like you were going to kill or jail my family if we didn't worship on Sunday. I eventually grew tired of the absurdities involved in believing in the Parousia.
>ADJOCK
>you have no understanding of what the scriptures
>say.
Tim Well please ADJOCK, educate me in Christian love. You seem so confident, I assume you know precisely the chapter and verse in the Bible where I can find an instance of "soon" or "shortly" where the referenced event occurs 2000 years later. As a bonus, perhaps you can tell us what "coming" Jesus was referring to in Matthew 10:23, when he claimed the Son of Man would come prior to the Apostles finishing going through the houses of Israel. Please respond with 2 Peter's 1000 years=1 day. I dare you.
>ADJOCK
>You are right about one thing, there are a lot of things in life to worry
>about.
Tim And waiting for a dead man to appear in the sky is not one of them.
>ADJOCK
>I wouldn't worry about the second coming of Christ either, if I was
>you.
Tim If you were me, I'd shoot myself.
>ADJOCK
>Your heart and mind is apparently already close so it will do you
>little good to worry anyway.
Tim Unlike you ADJOCK, I have had years to examine both sides of an issue. My church never preached Revelation 1, Matthew 10:23, Matthew 16:17,28. It never mentioned these verses either: 1 THESSALONIANS 4:15 (NIV) According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that WE WHO ARE STILL ALIVE, WE WHO ARE LEFT till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. Hebrews 10 (NIV) 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For in just a VERY LITTLE WHILE, "He who is coming will come and WILL NOT DELAY. JAMES 5:8 (KJV) Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord DRAWETH NIGH. I PETER 4:7 (KJV) But the END OF ALL THINGS IS AT HAND: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. I JOHN 2:18 (KJV) Little children, it is the LAST TIME: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. These are simply false prophecises ADJOCK. All the dishonesty in the world isn't going to make Jesus return. Get over it. Finally, I noticed that, due to an oversight on your part, you sent this to me privately. I'm sure you wanted all the other Christians on the list to see your brilliant rebuttal to my post, so I've done you the favor of posting it to the list. You can thank me later. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
