Ok, would a godless communist be expecting a "miracle of the sun" to
occur?

Sheesh. 

1) present evidence of these "godless communists" 
2) explain why you think all atheists have no belief in the supernatural 
 
3) present  evidence that they were actually  convinced that the
experience was real
4) tell the rest of us why their belief in the experience is any more
valid than any one else
