STOLTZFUS
You know what? You're right. I made an incorrect statement and
overreacted when you corrected me. All I can do now is apologize.

POOBAH
You're a good man, Jacob, better than many who can never admit a mistake.

STOLTZFUS
Check out what I wrote in the post about your tract thingy for some
insight into this issue. And I have to ask if you consider logic and
reason to be interchangeable words. As I understand it, logic is the
science of pure reasoning. While everything that is logical must be
rational, the reverse is not always true. Please let me know if I'm
mistaken.

POOBAH
Jacob, I do not think you have adequately dealt with the inconsistencies of
your position with regard to other sets of belief. The only reason I can see
for you to criticize other's beliefs is that they start with a different
premise that you do; if you use your "reason based on faith" to criticize
others, you haven't gotten anywhere because your premises are different. If
I prove something based on Euclidean geometry, that doesn't disprove
something else in a non-Euclidean geometry. So it will be with you if you
try to diss Islam from within your faith (or skepticism, I might add). The
only intellectually honest point of view I can see is adopt a neutral stance
to all claims of faith, and see where the evidence (meaning observable
phenomenon) leads.
