CREA
After examination, believe
that which you have tested for yourselves
and found reasonable, and which is in conformity
with your well-being and that of others.

FOREVERLIVE
Making your reality what you want it to be. Maybe you're misreading the
post. You totally misunderstand what i said. I have to be very obvious for
you to understand, don't i? It doesn't say "be your own God". Do you
understand what that statement "be your own 'god'" means? It basically
concides with this phrase: An honest man altars his ideas to fit the truth.
A dishonest man altars the truth to fit his ideas. A dishonest man would
create his own 'god'. THAT is basically what buddhism stands for, does it
not? Or does buddhism stand for "nothingness"? What's the difference? It's
basically telling you to follow your own mind. Be your "own god".

POOBAH
As much as I would like to accept accusations of ignorance & critiques of
Buddhism from an adolescent who can't spell "alter," I just can't bring
myself to do that...

I am going to have to ask you again, FL, look at the statement above, and
your statement, and explain how you get from one to the other. The Buddha
advocates using your experience and your ability to discern to know what is
"true." How is that anything like "altaring [sic] truth to fit his ideas"?

Isn't there a passage in one of the books of Timothy that exhorts the
faithful to examine their faith for the truth?
