A funny thing with Yahwists. Each revision generally accepts the earlier
version but the earlier versions always reject the revisions. Christians
accept much of the jewish scripture and adopt it as their own, and claim to
worship the god of Abraham. Moslems define xtians and jews as "people of the
book" and accord them special status not afforded pagans, they also claim to
worship the god of Abraham and hold Jesus in high esteem, as the second
greatest prophet. They regard the bible as a holy book as well, second only
to the Quran in importance. Mormons seem to break this pattern since they
don't really acknowledge moslems, but they arose in an environment
surrounded by xtianity without contact with Islam so this is not too
surprising. Like the moslems, they claim to worship the god of the Jews and
the xtians, and like the moslems they add their own book to the xtian bible
but do not reject the value of the earlier book.
