Hi!
I'm new to this list. I would like to comment on the "Trinity." By the way,
I belong to the same Church that Farrell Till used to belong to, the Church
of Christ, where the members strongly believe in the inerrancy of the Bible.
Funny that I should "defend" the Bible now, since I have come to seriously
question its truthfulness. I guess that's the irony of life :-)

The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible. A quick summary of what I believe
the Bible teaches is this: There is one God that consists of three separate
persons; the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. They are
one in the sense that their purpose is the same and that they are in
complete agreement with each other. In other words; they are the perfect
unity. They are of the same kind, God; like all humans are of the same kind,
humanity. But there are only three persons in the Godhead, while there are
more than 5 billion persons of humankind.
Many members of the Church of Christ believe that this is the Bible's
teaching. But there are also many who believe that God is one single being
with three personalities in some mysterious way, which is what Till taught
when he was a preacher, if I understood him correctly.
