Hellooooooo...McFly!

Do a search for "third day"
You will realize that the event of the crucifixion is
counted into the FIRST DAY.
Contrast this with: Luke 24:13-21
Here we have two people walking along on a nifty
Sunday. They state that this Sunday is the third
day since the crucifixion. What does this mean?
Thursday sunset to Friday sunset = 1st day
Friday sunset to Saturday sunset = 2nd day
Saturday sunset to Sunday sunset = 3rd day
This does NOT allow the Wednesday crucifixion.

Joe:
It will if you will allow it to. I agree that the disciples in Luke are almost
certainly referring to the third day counted from the day Jesus was killed.
But, almost isn't good enough when one is dealing with people who will accept
one in a billion liklihood as good enough when it comes to defending their
faith. Don't forget, I'm trying to see everything from the inerrantist side.
I think the inerrantist can claim that "these things" to which the disciples
are referring are the lowering of Jesus into his tomb and his raising. He was
lowered on day one and raised on day three; it's very symmetrical.
