XIANAPOL:

I think I have discussed this before. I may just have meant to do so.
Therefore, I will go ahead and post it now. The entire bible was physically
penned by man.

EDWARDS
Agreed.

XIANAPOL
It was inspired by God.

EDWARDS
Assertion. The evidence is ... ?

XIANAPOL
This came in two ways. With regard
to that which was totally observable, God may have inspired a man to record
what they saw. After all, I cannot imagine a person looking at something
and
God having to dictate the description to them.

EDWARDS
Note "may have" - this is not convincing argumentation.

XIANAPOL
In all passages where the
author could not simply observe the information, God had to dictate it to
them. Let me give you an example.

EDWARDS
You are assuming your conclusion. The alternative - which is much simpler,
not dependent on such an unsupported assumption, and supported by the
evidence - is that the authors obtained their information in the normal way.

<snip example>

XIANAPOL
God's first priority was to make sure that His word was recorded accurately.

EDWARDS
Assertion. The evidence is ... ?

XIANAPOL
If that required direct dictation, I believe God did that.

EDWARDS
"I believe" - unsupported by evidence.
