The pope has never said that any cell with DNA is a human being. I 
never admitted as such either. You seem to be confusing, willingly 
I'm sure, the terms "human" and "human being". Something can be 
"human" without being "A human". If you can't understand this 
distinction it is not worth arguing with you about it.

That is exactly the issue here. The RCC is trying to  claim the sanctity
of a  fertilised sex cell.   The rest of us are saying "hey its just a cell, not a  
human being".   In other words the claim that "human life is sacred" is
nonsense.   If you want to look at  the sanctity of human beings, then
most people are on common ground.  But I guess since this is what
the pope claimed in the Humanea Vitae,  people like you have to take
the popes word as gospel, wheras we use reason  and common sense
to come to our conclusions, which in the end make a great deal more
sense.

  A "fertiised (egg?) sex (???) cell", if I read this right, IS a human 
being at its earliest stage of developement. If given the right 
conditions (nourishment and freedom from harm) it will continue to grow 
into a mature human. A skin cell will not. Once again, the pope never 
said that ANY cell with DNA is a human being.
