When you say "the Catholic Church", do you mean the universal church of
Jesus Christ, that is, all believers in Jesus Christ, or the Roman Catholic
church?
RON
I mean the one universal Church founded by Christ, with its leadership
headquartered at Rome, guided by the successor of Peter. It is "Roman"
only in the sense that the Church presently has its headquarters there.
It also includes non-Roman rites, such as the Byzantine and Maronite
churches. Baptised members of other "churches" are members of this
Church whether they are aware of it or not. Christ only founded one
Church, not many.
