BRIDEAN
Forgive me if this argument has been heard before, but I have not heard it
and don't know how to effectively respond to it.

A person at work today made the argument that if Mary had wanted to
stop the crucifixion, all she had to do was say publically that she was
knocked up by Panthar (or whoever) and that it wasn't really a virgin
birth. Then they would have let Jesus go.

This seems far fetched to me. If this were the case then why wouldn't
David Koresh's mother testify against her son so that he could get off
scott free (or any other religious fiqure)? But perhaps those on this list
have a better way of refuting this.
