"Choice" is used as a euphemism for "abortion" (the "choice" issue, etc.).
I don't know of any dictionary that defines
"abortion" and "choice" as synonyms. Those who would like people to forget
what abortion really is - the killing of an unborn
child - are those who decided that abortion should be labeled just a
"choice".
Because I am opposed to abortion, I am called "anti-choice", which makes it
sound as if I want to take away people's choices
about everything.
If I were faced with an unwanted pregnancy, I would still consider myself to
have two choices: to keep the baby and raise
him/her myself, or give it up for adoption. Carrying the baby to term might
be an "inconvenience" for me, but this
inconvenience is minor when I consider the fact that the baby's life is at
stake - and the baby has no choice.

As far as I know the only people who use 'choice' as a euphemism for
'abortion' are the anti-abortion people. When I, or any one else I know,
say that we are 'pro choice' we mean exactly that. We are in favor of
letting women decide what to do with their own bodies. And, yes, it is the
'choice' issue. What is at issue is who is going to control women's bodies
the women themselves or the 'state' or the 'church'.
