Help, just got on this forum? How does this work? If I post to the
individual, does it go just to the individual? And "reply to all" goes to
the whole forum? About how many posts usually go out each day?
What's the breakdown here between Christians and non-Christians?
BRIDEAN
I am agnostic myself. I have a friend named Ron Criss who is a theist
of the Catholic variety who's comments I forward to the list. Since Ron
does not have a good internet connection which has e-mail, he has to
use a name server (such as hotmail). It is for this reason primarily that
he is not subscribed. He doesn't really have time to answer the stuff
I forward to him, let alone everything else that gets sent to the list.
Anyway, since you are new I will point out a few things. First of all, you
double posted this to me. This happens when you hit the "reply to all"
button (or whatever is equivalent to it in your e-mail program). Since I
am subscribed to errancy, I will get anything you send there. So there is
no need to send it to BOTH me and errancy. It doesn't really bother me
that people do this (since I have a decent internet connection) but some
people on the list will REALLY get steamed if you do this. So I am
warning you ahead of time. To keep it simple, always send your replys
to errancy@infidels.org and NOWHERE else.
Also, other people will point out that the habit on the list is to put your name
in all caps before what you say so that other people on the list can follow it.
This way after a post has been sent back and forth many times it will look
like this.

Once you become familiar with e-mail lists this is actually not that uncommon
of an occurance.
Good luck and heed whatever advice they give you on this list as far as list
etiquette.
