Gleason Archer has an absolutely hilarious "how it could have been"
explanation of this in his "Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties," p. 367-68.

I'm hoping an inerrantist (are there any left on the list?) will provide an
explanation. When I get an explanation (hopeful word), I will use the same
methods and reasoning to show that Jesus actually ascended 540 days, AND 18
months, AND 18 aeons after the resurrection, thus 'proving' the divine
inspiration of works most Xtians have never even heard of.
I was in a Southern Baptist church service one time where the preacher
quoted Gamaliel saying something or other, from the Archko Volume. Nobody
in the church missed a nod. Never phased them.
Once more, by using the same methods and reasoning used to harmonize the
canonical accounts of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, any
apocryphal work can be harmonized as well.
Takers?
