LINDA: Hi Ron, I think I did answer Ward's questions in another post. (or it got snipped from this one) The "laws" of cause and effect have been in play since the beginning of time. If you steal, rape or kill... or do anything to cause your neighbor grief, you have given him reason for retribution. This is not a way to happiness or "eternal life" as the christians would say. These are natural laws which affect us all whether we think they come from the bible or from God... They are in play and we will answer to them -- whether we recognize them or not. SOME of these may be spelled out (rather poorly) in the bible... but I believe they PREdate the bible -- they are really the laws of common sense... which very few people have these days. (that's why society is paying the price - and suffering under the effect of what it has caused) Do I make any sense? RON By the way, you still did not answer Ward's questions. I would be interested in hearing your answers. As for your "natural" laws of karma: Stalin (for one example) cheated, stold, betrayed, murdered thousands of people, and died wealthy and in power. There are probably other examples as well. Based on this undersatnding of natural law the strong and powerful determine what is moral. Strenth is the only and final arbiter. What succeeds is what is desirable for any particular individual. If you are strong enough, or can keep from being caught, why not do as you will? Each person becomes his own God. The fact is, your ideas of what is right and wrong, moral or immoral, are determined by your Judeo-Christian cultural background. That's the problem with your liberal philosophies. You are still fueled by Christian concepts. Without them you degenerate to a culture based on power and strength, like in the former Soviet Union, where all their revolutionary ideals were thrown over by the powerful.
