TOD
The problem is this: If you prohibit them only from ommitting details,
then they could write the account with their own "how-it-could-have-been
scenarios" and fulfill the request, all without ommitting anything, but
simply by explaining the contradictions with their own speculations of
what could have happened. They will come up with some
unbelievable stuff, but technically, they will have won the reward.
Nothing in the challenge stipulates that it must make sense. I wouldn't
add such a clause however, as different people disagree on what makes
sense and what doesn't. The best solution is to forbid them from adding
to the text with their own speculations. Is Ralph still participating on
the list? I don't know how to get a hold of him. I can't imagine that
he would mind such a change, as speaking for me personally, I am not
prepared to pay somebody $1,000.00 for writing a fanciful little story, I
want only a harmonization of the text as they stand. Even I could
harmonize the text if I was allowed to make up some little explanation to
explain the contradicting aspects. It may be wild, but I would have
harmonized the accounts, without leaving out any details.
