Hmmm, that's strange. I taught at a state college for 30 years, and I was
the only atheist on the faculty until three years before my retirement when
a physics teacher from China joined the staff. She came to my office one
day to talk to me because she had heard that I am an atheist. She told
me that she was an atheist too but had been afraid to let it be known
because of a fear that she would lose her work visa. She had thought that
this was a danger because of the emphasis that she saw on religion
everywhere in our society. I learned before I retired that the accountant
for the college was also an atheist, so in 30 years of teaching those were
the only two atheists I met on the college staff. If there were others, they
kept quiet about it.

By the way, Ron, John asked you to name one public official who is an
atheist, and you didn't do it. Why? If our society is as permeated with
atheism as you claim, you should be able to find atheists everywhere.
We have Terry crowing about how 99% of the people believe in God, while
you complain about the atheism that dominates our society. Hmmm,
can't you Christians get together?

RON
You just indicated several closet atheists in power at a state
college. Obviously, then, they don't all reveal themselves openly. After
all what moral basis would they have for openly revealing their belief?
Since they have no objective basis for morality they will do what is
expedient. By their fruits you shall know them. Whether intentionally or
not, the public schools promote atheistic beliefs.
