Ron, your answer is, frankly, ridiculous. Has not Peter, allegedly the
first pope, in a supposed god-inspired book, said...
1Pe. 5:1 ¶ The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an
elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the
glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight
thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready
mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, BUT BEING ENSAMPLES TO
THE FLOCK. (emphasis mine)
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of
glory that fadeth not away.
And has not Paul & Jesus said basically the same thing in these
passages?
2Co 12:14,15 1Ti 3:3,8 Tit 1:7,11 2Pe 2:3 Re 18:12,13
Mt 20:25,26 23:8-10 Mr 10:42-45 Lu 22:24-27
The premise of these verses is that one who acts contrary to these
cannot properly be called a Christian leader. Or, have the teachings
of Jesus, Paul and Peter, been relegated to just being quaint sayings
by your church?
According to your own religious hanbook, the bible, popes like Borgia
should have been considered as a heretic and shunned by Christians.
RON
The verse you cite indicates only that such a person will be rewarded
according to his works. Even a pope can go to hell. It says nothing
about being "proper" anything, so don't add your thoughts to the
scripture. Your understanding of the word "heretic" is in error. A
heretic would be someone who KNOWINGLY misdirects the faithful in
matters of doctrine. Where did Borgia do this?
