NANCY But the authors of the gospels relied very heavily on the LXX, much more so than the Palestinian "canon." In fact, they copied from it wholesale. Martin Luther rejected books in the RC canon based on the fact that they were written in Greek and not in Hebrew and were not included in the Jewish canon (which was not set at the time the gospels were written, by the way). However, in the finds at Qumran, mss of some of the deuterocanonical books we found, written in Hebrew. Why would you accept the "scriptures" of Luther over the "scriptures" used by the authors of the gospels? Nancy Todd todds@pa.net
