>Man carries the cross to the ends of the world
>
>
>Arthur Blessitt believes God called him to carry the cross in every nation
>of the world. He is closing in on that goal.
>..."I don't see myself as a radical," said Blessitt, 57. "I am simply
>obeying the call of Jesus and witnessing to people along the way. I think
>that's a very normal life."
>...Since 1969, Blessitt has carried his 40-foot cross, equipped with a
>small wheel on the end, through every continent and almost every country.
>Three nations remain, and Blessitt plans to visit them by 2000. Located in
>Asia, they are "very difficult to get into, but I am totally committed to
>finding
>a way into and through these countries," he told Religion Today. "I really
>don't want to name them, but it wouldn't take a genius to figure it out."
>...Blessitt has entered difficult places before. Most recently he completed
> trips into Iran, Syria, Sudan, and Afghanistan. "It's so amazing.
>I have done this for 28 years and God always makes a way," he said. In each
> nation except Afghanistan, where he stayed for only a few hours,
>people were curious and received him warmly. Normally Blessitt spends six
>months walking through a country, but recently he has limited his trips
>to two or three weeks to meet his deadline.

And I can think of no better way to spend those tithes and offerings taken
up each and every Sunday for 28 years for this wonderful human being (tongue
very much in cheek).
