To answer your question, the "Bible truth" you speak of above is that
demons can cause illness.

Hi Dave Doug, Till and all...

Wouldn't it have been a great stride forward for fundamentalists if
scientists would only have called newly discovered virus and bacterium
"demons" instead of "germs" ? ...  DNA could have been assigned the term 
"devil" and anyone who argues the fact would be Mr."S.A. Tan"  (ie. Satan)
That would have made the skeptics argument a lot more difficult - wouldn't it!

I've always said... it is all a great big word game... The propaganda can
be manipulated by just the change (mistranslation/misinterpertation) of a
few simple key words. Then add in the loss of meaning in translation... the
change in language over the centuries..  and idioms and customs in
different eras and localities... and ...  VIOLA!  You've got youself a
whole different set of beliefs than those communicated by the supposed
original writers.  

We just can't take the bible literally. If we do... it doesn't make any sense.
That's just the plain facts.
