Has this group ever looked at 2 Kings, Chapter 2, verses 23 and 24?

23 And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by
the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked
him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the
name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood,
and tare forty and two children of them.

What a beautiful story. I think I have been too slack with my own
children. Where is the love? Why didn't God or Elisha talk to the
children? How can a child's ignorant teasing of something they
obviously did not understand be rewarded with a most violent
death.... each child watching the others being ripped to shreds,
devoured, limbs flying all over, with more terror than anyone could
ever imagine, only to have time slow to a crawl as the bear finally
got to the witness of the gruesome event, and see his or her own body
ripped open like a pinata.

God really knows how to impress his poor followers. How can God
create any life with such reckless abandon and apathy for their
already know future fate? What kind of God would do such a thing? If
he can take the time and effort to blast 42 children from this world
in one of the most violent and cruel fashions I can imagine, why
couldn't he instead appear to the children and make them
understand... teach them......take them under his wing....

Am I to admire, respect, worship such a being or God? Why? It seems
like I'd be safer in Hell where all I have to worry about is the
heat.
