CLAIRE Nancy, I wish you hadn't written my name above your response. I changed it to yours. By the way, it wasn't just the theft of the colt that was addressed. Joseph Crea refuted your statement that Jesus "stole grain". I have already mentioned that Jesus was using rabbinic exaggeration when he told his followers to "hate" their families. In another message here, I point out that, if I were to make a general (insulting) statement about some atheist's messages on this list, but admit that I did not read that person's messages, I would "have my head handed to me". Obviously, I did not mean that literally. I am using "Claire exaggeration", or whatever you would like to call it. I don't see what is so wrong about offering what I read in my Bible commentary as an interpretation of a particular passage. You have your interpretation; I have mine. If you don't like my interpretation, that is your business. Why can't you accept that Gandhi might have admired Christ? Both Linda and I have independently offered evidence that Gandhi admired Jesus Christ, but was critical of Christians for not living up to Christian ideals. Since you seem to hate Jesus Christ, I thought that you might think less of Gandhi if you knew for certain that he was an admirer of Jesus Christ. Sincerely, Claire O'Connor
