IAN
We seem to be spending more time argueing about where to start than
anything else. The first thing I would like to determine if this Bible is
the
inerrant Word of God or if it is even Inspired by God. Somehow you have
already been convinced that this is not the inerrant Word of God but that
it is Inspired by God. Someone has convinced you of this by the same
method you wish to try on me. At any rate, I am not going to bend on this
point. I think we do agree that much of the Old Testament is myth. If you
believe that the creation story, talking snakes and talking asses, 5 1/2
mile high floods, an eighty-nine year old woman being taken by a king
to be Abe's virgin sister, a ninety year old woman giving birth, men living
hundreds of years, ad infinum are just some absurd myths, then why would
you accept as fact that a man rose from the dead after being three days
in a tomb?
Who are you to say that all these miracles (myths) of the OT are absurd but
the miracles of Jesus are not? And what makes you so sure that the Mormons
baptising their dead is so wrong?
No I am not familiar with the Chicago statement of Bible inerrancy.
