Wow! Some cool stuff is on A&E!
Some show called "Mysteries of the Bible" is on.
They were showing some tunnel dug under a large
portion of Jerusalem. It was made by the Hebrews
to protect their water supply from attacking armies.
(I guess it's mentioned in the OT somewhere.)
A Jewish Studies Professor stated that this was
one of the few times they've been able to have
such a good link between archeology and the
scriptures.
They were talking about the temple that Solomon
built, but stated that not a fragment of it has
been found. (Which isn't really surprising, since,
by the description in the Bible, it must have been
where all the riches in the world were at that time.)
They did find an urn though. It had some inscriptions
on it that suggested it may have been used in the
temple.
(Well...had to step away, it came back on...they started
talking about xtianity.)
They kept showing all these locations that are supposed
to be where many of the events in the NT happened.
I wonder where they figured that out from, or if it is
just where the early church decided they should be.
It was fascinating though, and all the Latin chanting
going on at the sites sounded really beautiful.
mmm...
Amazingly enough...they seemed to stop consulting all
those Jewish Scholars at this point.
(Back during another commercial break...)
Well, now their going to start talking about Islam.
This stuff's pretty interesting.
