anyway). BRYCE Oh, come now, Ed. Pilate knew Jesus was innocent, and allowed his corpse to be treated with more dignity than would be allowed for any common prisoner. Okay, maybe it's a bit strange that Pilate would let the Sanhedrin execute Jesus in the first place, much less provide the executioners and an armed guard for the tomb. In fact, from what little I've read of Pilate, he seems like the kind of guy who would have written Jesus a pardon for all crimes (past, present, and future) just to watch the Sanhedrin fume.
