But, as I proved earlier, without effective rebuttal, atheists have no basis >for their morality except their own desires. They, in effect, become their own

CREA I don't recall you "proving" any such thing. I recall you making a lot of assertions, but the absence of a rebuttal is not a demonstration of the soundness of your arguments. And, Ron, the existence of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain moral codes present a strong assault on your position that "God" must be the source of morality. Buddhism holds that morality is objective and built-in to the entire scheme of things (which they call dharma). The Hindus say much the same, but they call the moral under-pinning RTA. And for the Jains, morality is just another example of the common properties which exhibit as order of that variety of matter known as jivas. They ALL agree that morality has nothing whatsoever to do with "God", and both Buddhism and Jainism are overtly atheistic, yet you have admitted (above) that they have a basis for their morality which certainly seems not to be based on their own desires. From here it looks like you're spending the better part of your time simply changing which foot is stuck in your mouth. With Mettaa, Joseph Crea <Joseph.Crea@worldnet.att.net>
