TILL
My wife's sister married a Catholic, and to make sure that their son
was sheltered from the immorality that is rampant in public schools,
they sent him to a parochial school. The plan worked. He met a good
Catholic girl and married her when she became pregnant their senior
year. After the birth of their son, the mother, who turned out to be
addicted to drugs, abandoned the family, and my wife's sister
assumed the duty of rearing her grandson because the boy's father
had to work. This boy is now attending the same parochial school,
but after this year, he is going to attend a public school because of
concerns that his father and grandfather have about what he is
being exposed to at the parochial school. The father from his own
experience knows that attending a parochial school will not shelter a
child from immorality, and from what he hears from his son, he has
decided that the environment is probably worse than it was when he
attended the same school. By the way, my wife's nephew met
another woman and married her. He chose to have the marriage
performed in his wife's church (Lutheran) and didn't even try to obtain
an annulment of his first marriage, even though he obviously had better
grounds to do so than did Joseph Kennedy.

I also forgot to mention that my Catholic daughter-in-law has given
birth to only three children, the youngest of which is now fourteen.
When the third one was born, she had a tubal ligation. Why is it that I
seem to meet only those Catholics who don't feel any need to conform
to Catholic morality?

You swim in small circles. I have been to both Catholic and public
schools and I can assure you that students in public schools are every
bit as sexually active, with the added advantage of a costlier (at
tax-payers expense), and less-effective education.
