It sure makes a lot more since to have 'faith' in gravity, witch has
demonstrated it existence throughout hundreds of thousands of years of human
experience that have 'faith' in 'gods' which have never demonstrated their
existence.
I'll bet on the brick falling and move my toe every time, and so will Dick
no matter what he says.

If Dick were still on the list I would tell him to put his money where his
mouth is. I would put $200 in escrot and he would put the same
amount. I would then bet that if he drops a brick, directly over his foot
with no obstructions in the way, no wind currents faster than 2 miles
per hour, and he does not move his foot or anything else that would
cause his foot, or the brick to move (other than droping it, perhaps you
can think of some more restrictions) then the brick will in fact hit his
foot.>>

I don't believe that it is ever likely to happen, but I must agree, it is
possible that history could take a change of course and gravity would cease to
exist. But again, the likelihood of this happening is probably that it never
will happen. So, in a sense, Dick is right. We do have faith that gravity
exists, not much, but enough to no that if I drop a brick on my foot, I better
move my foot or I will probably be making a nice visit to a nearby hospital.
