  Those dates are speculation not derived accurately from scripture. The 
present understanding of genetic science is that everyone on earth is 
descended from one female dubbed "Lucy" by scientists. This has been 
proven by testing the mitochondrial DNA from people around the world. 
This substantiates the Biblical notion that we have common ancestors 
(Adam and Eve).

Actually "Mitochondrial Eve" is classified as archaic Homo sapiens and 
dated about 200,000 years ago, found in Africa. "Lucy" is classified as 
Australopithecus afarensis and is dated at 3.2 million years ago.
