  In each of the verses you quoted one COULD interpret the word 
immediately as "suddenly" and it would still make sense. In each case 
the cure or response was sudden and immediate. 
  Even if we chose to give the greek word only your limited 
understanding of it, it still would not remove the possible explanation 
that we are still within the period of the tribulation: all the things 
described by Jesus have happened, and some continue to happen 
(persecution, etc.). Though I am still inclined to accept the "sudden" 
interpretation of the word, if someone with greater knowledge of the 
greek word could explain it away, I will accept your narrower 
definition. Either way I see no difficulty with this verse.
