I don't know about Ian, but I've mentioned to you (repeatedly) several
WWW documents that talk about how an atheist gets some morals, and
invited you to comment on the weaknesses. Since you had not done so, I
had presumed that you found no flaw in the views expressed there. Now
you act as though you had never read the articles---Surely you didn't
just ignore them? That would be rude, to say the least.
In case you "missed" the post because you were "too busy", I'll
reference them again below.[1,2,3] For the most part, I agree with
the ideas in these papers, and so my moral philosophy is likely to have
some of the same weeknesses that the ones discussed in the papers do.
If you will point out how they are flawed, I would appreciate it.
I also posted some links about the obvious absurdities which you would
be required to follow if you actually did as your inerrant bible
commands. I'll reinclude those below too.[4,5,6]
Let me know if you're "too busy" to read these, and I'll feel free to
disregard any further messages you write about atheists having no way
to have morals since you would then obviously be speaking where you do
not have knowledge.
I will also understand that you're "too busy" to respond to important
moral issues on which the bible must speak, such as slavery, abortion,
and so-called genetic engineering.
But if you're truly busy working for your church, I suggest that you
talk to your elders and tell them that you need to have more time to
argue for Christianty on the internet. Quote to them the words of
Chist when he says that it is not the well who need the doctor, but the
sick. This should free up some time --- A week or so should be ample
to show the weakness in the moral philosophies common to atheists, and
demonstrate clearly that the bible gives explicit guidance on the moral
issues of slavery, abortion and genetic alteration.
