CHRISA: I think the standard inerrist response to that little quibble is: "big $!^@% deal!". Who gives a !$%? :-) Actually, the most likely response I know of is the "if-there-was- two-there-also-was-one" answer. Basically put, if account A says "Socrates and a friend went up to the temple", and account B says "500 men and Socrates went up to the temple", the harmonization is to say, well, there were 500 people, Socrates, and his friend going up to the temple, just that account A didn't mention the 500 men. As it relates to these verses, it could be said that Matthew and Luke simply didn't feel the need to talk about the first crow, since it wasn't important (which is, incidently, very true. When Matthew copied this pericope from Mark he didn't see the need to put in two crows when one would suffice). - Chris ---------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING: I cannot be held responsible for the above because my cats have apparently learned to type.
