RALPH NIELSEN Most people don't know, and Mormons don't want to know, that the Book of Mormon absolutely condemns polygamy. And now it came to pass that the people of Nephi, under the reign of the second king, began to grow hard in their hearts, and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as like unto David of old desiring many wives and concubines, and also Solomon, his son. (Jacob 1:15 (p. 119)). "For behold, he [king Noah] did not keep the commandments of God, but he did walk after the desires of his own heart. And he had many wives and concubines" (Mosiah 11:2a (p. 167)). "And it came to pass that Riplakish did not do that which was right in the sight of the Lord, for he did have many wives and concubines ..." (Ether 10:5a (p. 505)). I also noticed this interesting bit of B of M genealogy: "Coriantor was the son of Moron. And Moron was the son of Ethem" (Ether 1:7-8 (p. 488)). I included the page numbers because nearly all Bs of M issued from Salt Lake City have the same pagination, regardless of type size. This makes it easy for us to find the references and highlight them. Mark Twain called the B of M "chloroform in print." And, sure enough, it contains the Book of Ether. Several times I have posted the references above to a Mormon news group, but nobody has ever noticed them. Like all other "true believers," they see only what they want to see in their Holy Book.
